29 weeks!

Hooray for us, we've made it so far already!! Baby's holding up really well, she's always moving on the right side of my belly... very rarely does she kick/jab on the left side which always catches me off guard because I've become so use to her movements.

Went for my blood work on Wednesday and this Monday I go for another Dr's appointment, It feels like I just saw him yesterday!! I've booked my follow up ultrasound for the end of this month, hopefully the placenta's on the move (upward!)

We're slowly starting to accumulate clothing for this peanut. Grammie's knitting itch is in full swing, she's already knitted two little hats for her! It's still hard for me to look at pink and come to terms that I'm having a girl, just yesterday I came across the sweetest little outfit but opted not to get it because.... I really don't know why, it's just unfamiliar territory. (I know, I'm crazy!)

Your baby's head is getting bigger and his brain is developing billions of
neurons (important for later learning) at an amazing rate. His nutritional needs
are growing too. To meet his body's demands, you'll need plenty of protein,
vitamin C, folic acid and iron. His bones in particular are soaking up lots of
calcium right now, so drink your milk (or if you don't like the taste, try
calcium-enriched orange juice).

28 Weeks

By this week, your baby weighs nearly 2.3 pounds/ a little over 1 kilograms and
may measure 14.8 inches/ 38 centimetres from top to toe. At about this time,
your baby can open his eyes and turn his head in utero if he notices a
continuous, bright light shining from the outside. His fat layers are forming
and his fingernails appear.

I came home from a weekend visiting Grammie and Grampie and some of Colin's first words were "wow, you got bigger" and "yep, you're pregnant!" I am feeling a lot bigger, I'm noticing that some of my clothes don't fit me like they once did.

My hips are SO much better now, thanks to the Snoogle (a pregnancy pillow). I could easily sleep the whole night through... if I didn't have a little girl doing jazzersize at 4 in the morning.

I'll be going for my blood glucose test on Wednesday and I'll be booking another ultrasound sometime this week.

I picked up a birthing book this weekend. I want to teach myself how to relax while birthing and my goal is to do it without any medication. I realize that there may be complications or I may just not be built to do it, but i'm going to make a serious attempt.

Braxton Hicks

I've been getting them daily for the past 3 days now. I usually get about 4/day they're usually not painful - just uncomfortable. As long as there isn't a pattern and I'm not spotting then I'm in the clear. I don't remember ever having them with Robbie, it's nice to know that my body's already preparing for the baby's eviction!

3D Ultrasound - IT'S A GIRL!

We had our 3D ultrasound today and I've got to say it was a great experience. The little turkey was moving around SO MUCH, for the first little bit she had her legs up to her head (along with her hands)... yes, I said "she"!!! We've got a 40min DVD of her along with a bunch of pictures that can be seen here: http://s367.photobucket.com/albums/oo114/missstasiuk/ultrasound%20pictures/?start=0

Enjoy!

27 Week Development

Hello, heather!
This week, your baby weighs almost
2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her
legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and
closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue
developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still
immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if
she were born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a
case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually
lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the
tickle

Dr's Appt @ 27 weeks

First off... HOORAY FOR BEING 3 MONTHS AWAY AND IN THE 3RD TRIMESTER!!!

Here are my/our stats:

Weight: 151.6 lbs (gained 8lbs in one month and 13lbs since my first Dr's appt)
Heartbeat: 152

He wants to see me every two weeks now (very exciting), things are going to seem to go a lot faster now. I have to go to get blood work done in 1.5-2 week to see if I have gestational diabetes, some people hate the taste of it but my sweet tooth loves it!

The Dr's also has written a requisition to have another ultrasound done in 6 weeks, looks like I have a low lying placenta. He said he's not worried about it, I guess as the uterus continues to grow so does the placenta and it usually moves itself out of the way. So he wants to keep an eye on it... just in case. (cross your fingers it moves!)

I told him about my hips because they're still bugging me - my left one especially. He suggested going to a chiropractor. My left hip has absolutely no strength and I find myself in quite the predicament when I'm playing with Robbie on the floor and then I have to get up. Speaking about Robbie... she knows and reacts to him!! It's so cool. Colin was kissing the belly and making his strange sounds and then Robbie wanted to copy him, as soon as Robbie put his lips to the belly and started mumbling she went BONKERS! She already likes him and she's never met him yet :)

From now on expect bi-monthly updates now!
