Colin feels Eggy!!
Well, after a week of trying to get Colin to feel Eggy he finally felt him last night at 19 weeks and 3 days!! I'm so excited that he can finally share in his movements. :)
Motherhood Maternity
a) I love their clothes and will buy there before I go to Thyme.
b) They have awesome sales right now, all their summer stuff is reduced
now my beef....
c) They must work on commission which makes for nosey and dumb comments from their sales people.
I realized I'm pregnant and I'm going to need bigger shirts, but I don't need anything that makes me look like a teepee... especially since I'm only 19 weeks right now. I snagged a couple of 9.99+ tank tops and they fit me well up in the bust but there was a lot of extra fabric around the waist which just made me look... it was unflattering, let's just put it that way. The sales lady says "well that's great, why don't you put the pillow underneath the shirt to see what you'll look like in 3 months time" ummmm... in 3 months time do you think it's still going to this nice out?! It'll be a whole new season you.... you.... not so smart woman.
Colin doesn't mind the sales people and knows how to diffuse their nosiness, I think I'm going to have to bring him along if I ever go back :)

First OB Appointment!
FINALLY!
When the family Dr called to tell me my appointment time I went online and did some research, there's a website where patients can "rate" their MD's and I was really excited to read all of the feedback his patients had given him. Sounds like he even does circumcisions!
He's got an office with several other OB's and his office is right across the street from Grey Nun's (the hospital I'll be delivering at). On Tuesday's he does surgeries during the morning and rents out a clinic for a couple of hours before he heads home (he must be a Sherwood Park resident too!). The clinic is actually brand spankin new, it specializes in laser hair removal and is so "zen".
So I'm sitting in the waiting room and it dawned on me that I went pee right before I left the house and these people are going to ask me to pee in a cup... eeek, so there I am waiting for my named to be called while I'm imagining waterfalls, oceans and running water in hopes that I can gather a sufficient amount.
My name gets called and a nurse takes me into a room where she asks me about family medical history and my medical history. She asks me to fill out a bunch of paperwork and gives me a cup in a "bio hazard" bag (lovely) and tells me to fill it up right before my next appointment (yes... I knew I wasn't going to be able to fill it right then and there!) She took my blood pressure and had me step on the scale, I asked her if she wanted me with shoes on or off... she didn't care, she said it'll make little difference and that this scale isn't that great anyways (that's always nice to hear). I'm going to pick up my own scale and start weighing myself, I don't think I gained 7lbs within a week and a bit. Anyways, after the nurse did her little assessment I was sent back into the waiting room until a room was available.
Sitting in the waiting room I felt like the baby of the group, all these ladies had these big bellies and here's Heather with this little itty bitty bump. I didn't have to wait long and got to go into the massive room where I waited, I sooo wish Colin could have been there (Robbie was still napping when I left) it was really weird for him not to be there and I felt pretty alone. The Dr walked in and was really friendly we talked for a little bit and then said "why don't you lay down and we'll see if we can hear junior"... YAY! This is what I've been waiting for!!! He took the Doppler and started roaming around my belly, I was getting a little worried as I thought he would be able to find it ASAP. After a couple of minutes he was able to find a strong 148 bmp! That was THE best sound I've heard in a long time, it made it all real for me... I'm going to have a little baby in my arms come the holidays!
So tomorrow I'll be calling to book an ultrasound appointment and I'm going back to the the OB in 4 weeks. HOORAY!!

I don't know if there's much of a difference from the last belly pictures but I'm sure from here on in it's going to get bigger faster.

Less than 160 days to go!
Well the excitement is slowly building. I've got an OB appointment (finally) and I'll be just over 18 weeks when I get to see the OB, so I'll be hearing the baby's heart beat along with getting a requisition for an ultrasound... so we'll be seeing this baby soon :)
Sometimes I get sensations like I did when I was 8-9 months pregnant with Robbie. If I go walking for an extended period of time I can feel the baby/uterus pounding downwards with every step... if I'm feeling this now, I can't imagine how I'm going to be when I get into the 3rd trimester.
I've started wearing maternity pants with the insanely large waist band that covers your belly but because I'm not big yet, it's up with my bra... lovely. I find myself always trying to pull up the other maternity pants with the smaller elastic band.
After talking with my parents this past weekend I'm REALLY excited that they're willing to put their holiday traditions on hold (possibly, depending on when "eggy" decides to come) and come up to help us/me with the new addition along with Robbie. Mom made a really good suggestion, when we come home with a baby give Robbie his own baby. I guess I got a baby when Alison came home and I bathed her when Alison was getting bathed, fed her when Alison was getting fed, etc etc. I think it's a great idea!

Kicks
Today's the first full day that I've felt it kick throughout the day, every time I get the opportunity to sit down and relax I can feel little kicks right around my pelvis area. It won't be long until Daddy and Robbie will be able to feel it too!
